WHAT IS TRANCE MEDIUMSHIP & WATCH ELAINE THORPE IN TRANCE

"Trance mediumship allows a spirit being to take control of the body, mind and energy of the medium, to a varying degree, for the purpose of communication, spoken or written. This happens while their consciousness steps aside. It is the deepest level of mediumship" [1]

The Different Levels of Trance Mediumship

Mediumship comes in various different forms, so to that end, the medium works in a variety of ways. Generally speaking, when a medium uses mental mediumship to link up with the spirit world, the communication between the two worlds begins in their mind. This state then starts to intensify via channeled speaking, and various levels of trance [1].

These states are classified according to the medium's level of conscious awareness, and the degree in which the spirit person has blended their energy with the medium's energy [1]. The three categories of trance, comprise:

  • Light Trance

  • Medium Trance

  • Deep Trance, a state in which the spirit person can fully enter the medium's physical body, (such as that demonstrated by Elaine Thorpe in the video below) [1]

A Note of Caution

Earlier this week, when I attended the Spiritualists' Association of Edinburgh Trance Circle at the Arthur Conan Doyle Centre in Edinburgh: after going into a meditative-type state, a spirit man took me over, and I felt my adam's apple in my throat get bigger, and extending out - so much so, that, it felt very uncomfortable. I put my hands on my throat, and the circle leader quickly asked the spirit person to step back, just before I was about to do the same. I am referring to this incident to explain the crucial need to be in a controlled environment.

Trance circles that are run by professional organisations have a highly experienced medium leader. The latter's role is to remain vigilant and watch all the members of the group. (Moreover, for protection purposes, it is also important to open up and close down after a session).

Staying in Control

Whenever a medium goes into a state of trance, they always maintain control. They have formed a partnership between the two worlds which is founded on love and free will. The trance medium will have gone through a great deal of training, and over the years, will have built up unwavering trust with those from the next dimension [1]. These spirit people want to communicate with us to not only prove the continuous existence of the human soul, but to also give messages to their loved ones and those they knew on the earth plain. - And in some cases, such as during trance, give guidance and predictions to all of us.

The Difference Between Deep and Light Trance

When it comes to light trance, the medium remains partially conscious, so to that end, they able to remember what their guide has said. Conversely, when it comes to deep trance, the medium gives permission to their spirit guide to take them over, and as such, they change their level of consciousness, and step aside, thus making them completely unaware of what their guide has said [1].

Watch this YouTube video of the phenomenal trance medium, Elaine Thorpe. She brings through her wonderful spirit guide, Jonathan. He is known for giving extremely valuable guidance, and speaking on a broad range of subjects. He speaks very clearly, and is easy to understand
Elaine and Jonathan are the epitome of trance mediumship at its best...

Please watch from 2 minutes into the video, because Elaine is silent for this period as she goes into the trance state and makes the connection with Jonathan

And below is another excellent video which Elaine has kindly released so that people can get an insight into how those in the spirit world (which is often referred to by the collective terminology, 'spirit'), communicate with a live audience
