OUT NOW! "THE VORTEX: ARTHUR & ME, VOL II" BY ANN TREHERNE - READ MY BOOK REVIEW

Here is my Amazon review of Ann Treherne's must-read book. I remember talking with her about her now, hugely successful first volume, which was serialised in the Edinburgh News/The Scotsman, before 2019, when it went into print. Being a member of the Edinburgh Association of Spiritualists which holds weekly circles, workshops and lectures at the Arthur Conan Doyle Centre (which was founded by Ann), I have made my way through the Vortex many times...

REVIEW

Amiable Spirit people in the form of legionnaires making their way up the exquisite wood-carved spiral staircase towards the glorious glass dome, a dapper man in a Victorian top hat and tail coat, a child paying hide and seek; and even a few malevolent entities that seemed to take pleasure in pushing people (fortunately, they have since left the building for good); and paranormal instances where things disappear or are moved (the book has photos), doors banging open and closed, and lights suddenly coming on all over the building, all present themselves at different stages of this must-read tome.

'The Vortex,' is the second in the 'Arthur and I' series written by acclaimed author, Spiritualist medium, and psychic investigator, Ann Treherne. This book offers a truly fascinating, illuminating and compelling deep dive into the world of Spiritualism. This is done through the prism of what was Ann's second mission: to make a resounding success of the Arthur Conan Doyle Centre (having already fulfilled her first herculean mission to find a suitable impressive large building). The latter was a task, which like this new one, was assigned to Ann and her team during regular Spirit communication from Conan Doyle during her 'Thursday Closed Circle' (a group of highly experienced Spiritualists who explore both mental and physical mediumship).

Since the purchase of the building that became known as the Arthur Conan Doyle Centre in in 2011, this next request from Spirit, was to make the project a success so that everyone, be they locals, or visitors from another part of the country, or overseas, could benefit. To that end, this journey began with extensive refurbishment, something which was quite a tall order, since the building had been left in a state of disrepair for a number of years. And it was during this period of renovation and preparing the different rooms, including the Sherlock Holmes Tearoom, the Helen Duncan Room, and the Sanctuary Space, that the paranormal events recounted by Ann, became a regular occurrence.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is renowned as one of the world's best-known proponents of Spiritualism, and during his lifetime, he served to spread the word far and wide. So continuing this drive, as this book shows: the clues and synchronicities that were provided by Conan Doyle's Spirit communication to Ann and her team, have now made it possible for potentially millions of people to learn about Spiritualism. - Thus fulfilling the task at hand, and continuing Conan Doyle's life mission of enlightening people about the magnificent wonders of Spiritualism, and the continued existence of the human soul. Moreover, thanks to Ann's and her helpers' superhuman efforts, countless people can nature their innate spiritual, physical and mental well-being through the activities and practices at the centre and online. To that end, the ever-omnipresent Spirit of Arthur Conan Doyle, and the string of clues and synchronicities that he sent during the period that Ann covers in 'The Vortex,' came about for the greater good.

Of note, Ann's enthralling and detailed written work comprises excerpts from her realms of meticulously written notes and records. Furthermore, her account is frequently interlaced with reports, letters, testimonies and statements, from a broad range of people (including national and international scientists and paranormal investigators, workmen, volunteers, visitors, and more), who have in one way or another, borne witnesses to events recorded in the book; or been a player in this incredible endeavour.
