WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT CLAIR SENSES & CAN WE ALL TUNE IN THIS WAY?

"We are all unique, each born with psychic gifts which are different for each of us. Some might receive psychic information through inner sight. Others might hear messages internally. Or perhaps they just know things. These varieties are known as the 'clair' senses. They are extrasensory, enabling us to perceive information or phenomena that cannot be explained by ordinary sensory perception" [1]

The clairs radiate beyond the five recognised physical senses of: sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. And as the College of Psychic Studies, notes: being mindful of our 'Clairs' (AKA psychic gifts) is extremely important. - And this is the case whether you are a psychic, medium, or anyone else who is interested in developing your intuition. Indeed, countless individuals can tap into this fine tuned ability to varying degrees. Moreover, with time and practice, some of these senses will become available to all who are would like to open up a whole new world of understanding. - A sphere which goes beyond the limits of our usual senses. So whilst we may not all be born with such gifts, we can often develop them, and I feel that this is especially so at this time as we move towards New Earth. (New Earth or Fifth Dimension (5D) refers to an interim end-destination - a state of raised consciousness and state of mind where those of us who chose to evolve spiritually, enter into a paradigm shift).

The Low-Down

The word 'clair,' originates from the medieval French word, clair, meaning clear. - So in the context I am describing, it refers to 'clear intuitive abilities and senses' which empower us to receive subtle information. The clairs are highly individualised in each of us,  and our abilities can be very different (in regard to which clairs are our strongest). Furthermore, as we travel through life, our clairs can change. - For example, we may suddenly develop a new one, such as clairaudience, yet simultaneously lose our clairvoyance.

Last year, when I was giving a talk at a London Spiritualist church, the audience, many of whom had been attending for years, were very intrigued to take a deep dive into how mediums actually get their information. The latter are either:

  • Given to the data by people in the spirit world, or it is
  • Acquired via their psychic senses

In fact, after my talk, I was told that by my explaining everything in an easy-to- understand way, it took away some of the apprehension that a percentage of attendees naturally have. Furthermore, now, every time they see a medium at a Spiritualist church or centre; or watch a famous psychic medium on TV such as Tony Stockwell, the Psychic Detective (who has also been one of my mentors), my Spiritualist church audience will automatically resonate with what they are doing, and how they are achieving the incredible information that they come up with.

The 4 Key Clairs

These comprise:

  • Clairvoyance: this refers to 'clear seeing,' and as such, empowers adherents to perceive events or data via clear mental visions or images. True clairvoyants have the ability to visualise or 'see' (via their third eye): objects, places, people or animals, that are beyond their immediate physical environment

  • Clairaudience: this relates to 'clear hearing,' and describes being able to  obtain data via auditory perception. Individuals who possess powerful clairaudience may hear messages, voices, or sounds, from sources which are are not physically present. Such voices are heard via the inner ear, and are discernable and separate from our own internal narrator

  • Clairsentience: this associates with 'clear feeling,' that is to say, the ability to feel or sense information in an energetic or emotional capacity. Those who practice clairsentience are sometimes referred to as empaths, and as such, they can tap into the vibrations, energy, and (in some cases, the emotions), of individuals, objects, and places

  • Claircognisance: this describes 'clear knowing,' meaning that we have a sudden and clear insight into a particular situation. Indeed, we receive an unexpected download of knowledge that comes without any plausible explanation. Indeed, those who practice claircognisance may have a deep sense of understanding or knowing, without being able to justify how they attained it [1]

Of note, even if our principle clair is one of the aforementioned key psychic senses, we will pick up the data in our own unique way. In the same vein, "just because our psychic gift doesn't correspond to the main four listed above does not mean it's not valid" [1].

Other Psychic Senses

  • Clairgustance: this refers to being able to taste different types of food, drink, tobacco, spices, herbs, substances, or flavours, without having physically ingested them. Those who practice clairgustance are often able to associate particular tastes with an individual, place or object (for example, a medium could describe a deceased father who smoked a certain type of cigar)

  • Clairalience (or clairolfaction): this is associated with the propensity to be able to perceive odours or smells which are not physically present. Those who practice clairalience may smell aromas, scents or fragrances that are linked to a specific energy or entity. (For imstance, a medium could suddenly get a wift a well known perfume (such as Eau de Cologne) which used to be worn by a sitter's grandmother in the spirit world)

  • Clairtangency (psychometry): this relates to being able to attain impressions or data by holding or touching an object (such as a war medal or a piece of jewellery). Those who are adept at psychometry may be given images, experience emotions, or have insights associated with the object's owner or history

  • Clairkinesthesia: this describes being able to perceive physical movements or sensations (that can not be seen) in somebody else's body. (For example, an exponent could describe strong heart palpitations). Indeed, those who are adept at clairkinesthesia, can experience sensations, vibrations, or subtle energy shifts, associated a specific situation or presence [1]
