So What Exactly is the Nag Hammadi Library Kevin O'Doherty Has Written About?
Discovered in upper Egypt in 1945, the Nag Hammadi Library serves as a collection of thirteen ancient leather-bound books (referred to as ‘codices’). – These comprise over fifty Coptic texts. This hugely important find incorporates a significant number of primary ‘Gnostic Gospels’ – texts that at one point, were thought to have been completely destroyed during the the early Christian fight to define [and perhaps skillfully mold] ‘orthodoxy.’ Indeed, these texts are viewed as "part of the heretical' apocryphal literature the early church rejected from the *New Testament canon. These scriptures include the Gospel of Truth, the Gospel of Philip, and the Gospel of Thomas" [1, 2]. Leading author, Kevin O’Doherty’s exemplary account of elements of the Nag Hammadi Library, is an enthralling experience, in that the latter serves as one of the most meaningful discoveries in regard to early Gnosticism, Christianity, and alternative philosophical and religious movements in a blended Greek and Roman world. It is clear that when O’Doherty cast his scholarly gaze on this phenomenal treasure trove of literature, his mission to analyze, revise and retranslate the work to such a high degree, must have taken years of dedication. As an author myself, I highly recommend this book - not only to those who are interested in the subject, but also to those who want to look beyond the confines of what we have been taught (and brainwashed) about our history, the earth plane, the multiverse, and all that is...
