2026: IS IT TIME TO INNOVATE SPIRITUALIST MEDIUMSHIP?
Have you ever thought that revolutionizing the presentation of spiritual mediumship could reach a far wider audience of billions of people? - Individuals whose lives could be miraculously transformed by knowing that their departed loved ones are now happily living in a another dimension (the spirit world), and that one day, we too will go to this dimension and meet up with them. Also,, knowing that we have nothing to fear about physical death. In order to come to terms with the concept of spirit people, we have to understand that we are all composed of energy, and as Einstein said: "Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another."

The connecting of our two worlds via a professional (or amateur) medium is both real and tangible. But getting the word out to all (something which the spirit world has asked us mediums to do), has not yet been achieved. - There are 8 billion-plus people on planet earth at this moment in time, and whilst a percentage may not want to know anything about Spiritualism, many will (especially after they have seen brilliant demonstrations in which the medium presents evidential facts that can be acknowledged by the recipient).
And on top of this, as our beautiful world is increasingly becoming more and more fractured, and future years are predicted to bring about huge catastrophic changes with both geological (earthquakes that could change countries and continents, huge volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, solar flares, changes to the planetary systems, drastic water shortages, melting of the ice caps, and more global warming); and manmade events (wars, other horrors, mass brainwashing and malevolent agendas that will continue to impact our daily lives), it is important to understand that there is far more to life as we know it.
And it is this linking up with our spiritual/non-material side (our higher self), and being aware of the spirit world, that will help us. - We all have a spark of spirit within us that can transform our lives, and we can all benefit from spiritual healing. And it is these aspects that will help us gain the necessary internal strength and fortitude to be able to cope in the best way possible...
And whilst the news of these events (which are forecast by many top mediums), is terrifying, humanity can rest assured that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. - After the earth has undergone all of or some of these changes (bearing in mind that timelines can alter, and in some cases, predicted events may not come to pass), life will come into balance and harmony.
And ultimately, as the old structures of destruction to the planet, greed, globalized control and bad governance fall, there will be equality, peace and harmony, for all those of us who want to be part of this beautiful new more spiritual 5D (fifth dimension). A world which envelops a higher state of consciousness, and works on a vibrational frequency that promotes oneness, spiritual intuition, being in harmony with the universe and all that is, and moving away from the duality of the current 3D (third dimension) world.
So rather than feeling afraid and living in trepidation, we should be mindful that we are all involved in this great change which will ultimately be for the greater good, even though there is likely to be devastating collateral damage. - Something which will be very hard to mentally process and live through while Gaia (earth) is making this momentous transition. But we can be safe in the knowledge that if we have an understanding of Spiritualism and mediumship, then transitioning through this time will be far easier.
Bringing Light to the World at Large
In order for Spiritualism to achieve a massive audience, mediumship needs to be presented in an awe inspiring way. - This should be far removed for an environment which can generate skepticism, and in some cases, anxiety and concern that something spooky might take place. These feelings are frequently caused by: the many stories of fake mediums and psychics, haunted houses, the thought of ghosts, a feeling that it is taboo or wrong to contact the departed; and not really understanding how mediumship works.
In the case of the latter, I remember giving a talk in London about the basic mechanics of mediumship. - I led the audience in a world of discovery as I used simple layman's terms to explain how a medium connects with those in the spirit world, and how the former have spent a long time (sometimes many years), refining their awareness, ESP, (clair senses), intuition, telepathy, attunement, feelings, emotions, use of energy, frequency, vibration, stillness of the mind, meditation, and sitting in the power, in order to be able to link up with the energy of the departed and other beings that dwell on a different plain.
Scientific research in to how a medium works, is unfortunately, very limited, however I was asked to take part in a study conducted by the University of Greenwich, which has already conducted and published a small number of studies within the sphere of anomalistic psychology and parapsychology (including studies on ESP (extrasensory perception).
Going back to the talk I gave in London, a number of people (some of whom had been watching and attending demonstrations of mediumship for years), came up to thank me. They all said that what I had told them about the mechanics of mediumship, and how the different clair senses work and sometimes change throughout the lifetime of a medium,was not just incredibly interesting, it also gave them an understanding that they hadn't had before. - And it is this comprehension that is so very important for promoting Spiritualism. Moreover, once people have a rudimentary understanding, they will be less sceptical, and will be able to explain things to others who who think it's all mad...

My main spirit guide is the world-famous British-American Spiritual philosopher and author, Alan Watts (born 1915, passed 1973). - Some readers may be asking themselves what is a spirit guide in relation to a medium? - Well, as the College of Psychic Studies explains: "alongside every skilled psychic medium is a team of spirit guides and helpers. It is never just about the medium - it's always a team effort. In fact, in many cases, the medium's spirit guides are as well-known as - or even more than - the medium. A good example of this is Silver Birch - a spirit guide who communicated through the mediumship of Maurice Barbanell (1902-1981)" [1].

Alan Watts, who had an exceptional gift for explaining Eastern philosophy, thought and metaphysics, is credited with bringing Eastern philosophies (including Buddhism, Taoism and Hinduism), to the West. He liked to describe himself as a 'Philosophical Entertainer.' - He wanted to come across as an everyman, spent a lot of time in India, China and Japan, and enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life. He had a very kind heart and touched the lives of millions of people with his brilliant talks and lectures - always making them smile with his inimitable humor and wit. (Something he continues to do today as he seems to be attracting over a billion listeners on YouTube, with one channel being run by his son Mark Watts). And Alan's avatar and voice even feature on a special episode of Southpark.
Alan's philosophies of life are very profound and easy for us all to resonate with. And despite being thought to have an IQ of 160, and holding a Masters in Theology and a Fellowship from Harvard, Alan did not want to be known as a traditional academic - he didn't want to be part of the humdrum norm. And it is this non-egoist approach which is so very important in many fields, including Spiritualism.
So when it comes to promoting Spiritualist mediumship on a massive scale, we have to learn from the fabulous exponents who exude the X-factor. - People like Tony Stockwell, Nikki Allen, and Matt Fraser. These leaders embrace all that is as they let their unique authentic style and exuberant personalities shine through...
Medium Entertainers
Ironically, due to consumer protection legislation, and in order to to meet legal standards, mediums have to state that their mediumship is for 'entertainment purposes only.' This of course, is because the messages that are passed on from the spirit world to the recipient, cannot be determined as provable fact. Moreover, due to countless aspects, mediumship should be regarded as an experiment (in that every spiritual reading is different). - And whilst the 'entertainment' part of this regulation could be seen by us mediums as somewhat of a put down, we can nonetheless, smile, look on the bright side, and bring some star quality into what we do.
Viewing Figures Show Mediumship Entertainment Works
For far too long, a massive percentage of the general public have had severe reservations about what mediums do, and if it is genuine. And unfortunately, as a result, they are inclined to shy away from demonstrations in formal settings (despite the sincerity and integrity of the majority of mediums). So for many, a new age approach and associated terminology can be more embraced, in that it comes across as light hearted, fun, and healing. Crystals are a good example of the latter, as they can deepen spiritual work by acting as energetic focal points, thus amplifying and maintaining vibrational energy, and facilitating altered states of consciousness. And the hugely popular international psychic medium and angel channeler, Nikki Allen, leads the way with her immense knowledge on crystals and divination tools.
Whistles and Bells
And it is truly wonderful to see members of their live audience who, despite their tragic (and often recent) loss, are able to smile and laugh when they receive a message from their loved ones in the spirit world. - Loved ones who still have their personality, memory, sense of humor, and love for all kinds of fun, jokes, and entertainment. - And this is where different elements of entertaining during a show of mediumistic ability, can come in.
And as I often say to people: when our loved ones in the sprit realm are looking in on us, they don't want to see us feeling sad and looking like a wet weekend. - They want to draw close to us and feel our energy lifting as we strive to keep walking tall through the sun and the rain. - They want to feel our vibrations of happiness. (In order to understand this more, we can just reverse the situation).
So being a Medium Entertainer (in whatever form that may take, depending on what the medium in question resonates with), will generate a high vibration as they bring through love light and fun as they connect with the audience's loved ones in spirit. The latter of whom often recall memories of happy fun days with the receiver. So basically, there is a is a triangular approach: to empower the medium to uplift the recipient of the message, the person in spirit world, and the audience. And as the medium brings the two worlds together in this heartening way, they regularly prove the miracle that there is life after life.
Added ExtrasFantastic music always raises our feel-good factor, so that would be great. (Unfortunately, copyright laws can come into play here, although, there are now a plethora of copyright-free tracks which could be used). Also, you may know some musicians who would like to volunteer to be part of the entertainment. And audience members like to dance, clap or sing along - something which really raises the collective energy. 
And then there is the great musical piece entitled Spirit Rappings, which you may like to use. It was released in 1853 (5 years after the Hydesville Rappings). I discovered this fantastic upbeat tune when I was on a course with Shelley Youell. And when she played it, all of us in the group had great fun singing and dancing along to it. And this catchy song shows just how people loved the idea that the spirit world are communicating with us. - So if you want to use it, I think it should be out of copyright (although that should be checked as I can't confirm it).
I recall being at a demonstration of mediumship at the Quackers Hall in Hastings, England. - The music was so vibrant, that the medium was over the moon as she told everyone about the number of spirit people dancing down the aisle! And on another angle, yesterday, when I was thinking about this blog, my spirit guide, Alan Watts, showed me a wonderful image of a band. And whilst that would be beyond most budgets, it might nonetheless, be possible to share a screen with a fabulous band playing a popular song.
And another option (which can be presented the same way), is including a very short demonstration of crystal or Tibetan bowl, gongs, chimes, or drum sounds. - These can prove very enlivening and healing for the audience.
Another option is for the medium to get started with a a joke or two (although this won't be for all mediums!). - This strategy is a mainstay of my long-term mentor, the famous medium and spiritualist educator, James Garvey. He regularly demonstrates at Tribal Connection Market in Alberta (which is a case in point about out of the box venues that attract the curiosity of mediumship). In this case, there is a fantastic artistic Bohemian community atmosphere, a cafe, Native Indian crafts, a spiritual shop, and all kinds of exciting events. (And James Garvey, who was known for his BBC Radio Psychic Hour with Johnnie Walker, and his many TV appearances, including one in the US with the famous magician, James Randy, will be returning to the UK for a national tour in the near future).
And now as he approaches 90 years of age, James frequently recalls how he was trained in old school mediumship - the wonderful type of mediumship which was presented by greats like Estelle Roberts, who along with her famous Native Indian Spirit Guide, Red Cloud, impacted the lives of thousands of people at London's Royal Albert Hall. And as an aside, I am very glad to know that Tony Stockwell is leading the way by reviving the old school methods that have until now, been discarded.

And then there is reading out a short poem, or quote from a famous spiritual philosopher such as Rumi, Lao Tzu, Eckart Tolle, or Alan Watts. - (See 50 famous quotes by Alan Watts).
And then there's the possibility of introducing Spirit Art (the drawing of a portrait, an animal, house, or object that belonged to someone who now resides in the spirit world). So you can invite on a spirit art medium - either an amateur, or professional like the fabulous Shelley Youell who can draw and paint spirit people who come through. -You may like to look at this excellent blast from the past Mediumship Entertainment video of the great Gordon Higginson and Coral Polge.
Towards the End of the Presentation
There could be a section around the end of the presentation in which the medium demonstrates psychometry. They can do this by touching an item (such as a watch or keyring) that belonged to an audience member's deceased loved one.

Or there could be a short demonstration of psychic ability, with the medium explaining that all mediums are psychics. This presentation could also include using tarot or popular divination tools. - Adding this to the event is likely to make those who feel unsteady about mediumship, more willing to attend. After all, for some of us, it conjures up happy memories of gypsy fortune teller huts at the seaside or on the pier.
Or another aspect could be bringing in astrology and/or numerology - And whilst this is a subject that takes years of study, it is nonetheless, possible to spend five minutes interesting the audience by talking about a famous medium astrologer's or medium numerologist's recent global predictions. (And always be sure be sure to credit the astrologer/numerologist).
At the End
There could also be a feedback period towards the end of the presentation. This could give the members of the audience who received messages, 5 minutes to talk about the validity of what they had been told. This should be a win-win aspect of the production, in that the audience will get to know what the messages from the spirit world meant to the receiver, and how accurate they were. It should also boost people's confidence in the authenticity and truth of good mediumship. Or perhaps you could talk about a specific celestial phenomenon that has just occurred (or is about to about to.
Being Unique
It is important to be mindful that every medium has walked a different life path. They may have been directly trained by those in spirit, or they may have attended workshops classes and circles run by teaching mediums (or as in my case, both). - But whatever the case, they have had a broad range of experiences to get where they are. So to that end, as long as professional ethics and any relevant laws and regulations of the country are adhered to, it is not necessary to conform to a set structure and make everything the same old, same old.
Mediums all have different spirit guide/s (although the former may call upon angels and descended masters who are available for all to create a link with). Also, some mediums who are now in the spirit world, are known to connect with multiple mediums here on the earth plain. For example, I have been contacted several times by both Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Gordon Higginson - two of the greats who regularly link up with different mediums.
I Did It My Way
So, everyone has their own ways of connecting with the spirit world and other dimensions. Also, there is no copyright on Spiritualism and mediumship. And when it comes to getting evidential mediumship out to billions of people via a special live Mediumship Entertainment event: for a small percentage of mediums, it is a case of finding a suitable venue (be it a stage at an exhibition centre, a theatre building, youth centre, sports centre, library room, or a humble hall). And where ever you are demonstrating from, try and interact with the audience. - Make them feel part of it all!
And for a large percentage of mediums it would be far more practical and involve very little cost, to give Mediumship Entertainment Shows online (over zoom or another platform, such as Google Meet, where attendees do not need a google account). And then putting on a spectacular show of laughter and fun (something that raises the vibration for the audience, and helps strengthen the medium's connection to spirit). And very importantly, it is vital to make sure that it is recorded (as professionally as possible), so that it can be put for YouTube, etc. - Because this is the only way that Spiritualism can reach billions of people, just as Alan Watt's spiritual philosophy is doing.
In this digital age, presentation is very important, and we are, after all, representing the spirit world, so we must keep this in mind. And all the added extras that I have suggested to rev up the entertainment factors can be presented through recordings, images, etc. It's just a questions of reaching the depth of your imagination and thinking outside the box. - So try and reach higher ground by spending time finding great sources, rather than rushing things. And of course, you can create a fantastic virtual background.
Alternatively, you can just make a fun Mediumship Entertainment presentation from a room in your house. Having become popular during Covid, this has a very down to earth feel for everyone watching. Medium Nikki Allen, who suffers from fibromyalgia and other debilitating conditions, gives amazing presentations from her living room or bedroom. And on the odd occasions when she is in her pajamas, so are we... And we deeply appreciate that despite feeling low, she has come on,. And we know that before she even speaks, the session will be packed with fun and entertainment.
We can all resonate with this keeping it real approach, and that is why she has well over 100,000 YouTube followers. And during these stressful times in our lives, Nikki gives us a perfect remedy. And she also gives regular global predictions, upliftment for those who are suffering from loss of a loved one, and talks and explanations about countless different aspects of spiritualism and mediumship. - And all in a way that everyone can understand. So for all the interested mediums across the length and breath of the world who want to be part of this new innovative drive to get billions of people to know about the miracle of Spiritualism, as the spirit world recently said to me: "The World is Your Stage." - So hone into your creative side (including the one you had when you were a child), and use Mediumship Entertainment to spread love, light, fun, and eternal happiness...
